Motherhood is full of joy, love, and moments you never want to forget.
But let’s be honest—there’s another side no one really prepares you for.
The exhaustion.
The anxiety at 2am.
The frustration when your baby won’t settle… no matter what you try.
And the quiet guilt that follows.
You can read all the books. Take the classes. Follow every “sleep tip” on the internet…
…and still feel completely overwhelmed when you’re in it.
I’ve been there too.
And what helped me most wasn’t another checklist—it was hearing that other moms were struggling just like I was… and that things could get better.
So if you’re in the thick of bedtime battles, night wakings, or short naps, I want to share a story that will give you real hope.
Meet Kate: Exhausted, Overwhelmed, and Out of Options
Kate came to me as a first-time mom to her 5-month-old daughter, Harper.
Like so many moms I work with, she didn’t expect sleep to be this hard.
What started as a simple bedtime had turned into a nightly struggle:
Bedtime was long and unpredictable
Harper would only fall asleep while bed-sharing
Night wakings were constant
She was feeding up to 5 times a night
Dad had moved to the floor just to get some rest
Everyone was exhausted.
And maybe the hardest part?
Kate felt stuck. She didn’t know what to change—or how.
Why This Happens (Even When You’re Doing Everything “Right”)
Here’s the truth most moms aren’t told:
👉 Baby sleep struggles are not because you’re doing something wrong.
They happen because:
Your baby doesn’t yet know how to fall asleep independently
Sleep associations (like feeding or bed-sharing) have become necessary
Overtiredness is quietly making everything harder
The right structure just isn’t in place yet
This is incredibly common—especially around 4–6 months.
And the good news? It’s completely fixable.
What We Did (And Why It Worked)
Kate didn’t need to overhaul her entire life.
She started with my Bedtime Support Package, where I guided her through the first few hours of night one—step by step.
We focused on:
A clear, consistent bedtime routine
Putting the feed at the beginning of the routine (key for this age)
Teaching Harper how to fall asleep independently
Creating a plan Kate felt confident actually following
And most importantly—Kate wasn’t doing it alone.
Night One: A Huge Win
By the end of the very first night…
✨ Harper fell asleep in just 36 minutes
For a baby who previously needed so much help to fall asleep, this was a massive shift.
And it only got better from there.
The Results (In Just a Few Weeks)
Here’s what life looks like now:
Bedtime
Calm, predictable, and no longer stressful
Harper falls asleep quickly and easily
Night Sleep
11–12 hours overnight
Occasionally one feed (appropriate for her age)
Naps
3 solid naps per day
3–3.5 hours of daytime sleep
Family Life
Everyone is sleeping
Anxiety is gone
Confidence is back
What Kate Had to Say
“I feel like my life has changed.”
“OMG Andi, this is so good! It’s like she’s a different baby!”
“She woke up zero times last night. Not a single cry!”
“I am so, so, so happy and grateful for you. Harper has never slept like this.”
What I Want You to Know
If you’re reading this while:
Dreading bedtime
Waking up multiple times a night
Wondering if this is just “how it is”
…it’s not.
You don’t have to figure this out on your own.
And you don’t have to keep living in survival mode.
With the right plan—and the right support—your baby can learn to:
✔ Fall asleep independently
✔ Sleep 11–12 hours at night
✔ Take consistent, restful naps
And you can feel like yourself again.
