Q

I’m pretty familiar with sleep training and have tried some things already. Why do I need a Sleep Consultant?

A Because of the personalization of my plan, clients get their families sleeping well more quickly and with less stress than when they try and do it on their own. I am answering questions, tweaking the plan if necessary, holding families accountable and they are not doing it alone, which is why it’s so successful.

Q

Do you Offer Follow-up Support?

A Yes! Follow up support consisting of 3 phone calls and a “graduation” call and unlimited voice messaging during our 3 weeks together. Sleep resource “package” to assist with future sleep milestones (e.g. travel, daylights savings time, transitioning naps).

Click on the links below to see a detailed list of support based on each package:

Prenatal/Newborn 0-11 weeks

Baby 12 weeks - 18 months

Toddler 3-4 years

Big Kid, 4+

Q

Does sleep training method work for older kids?

A Yes! I work with kids as old as 6 years old. See full details in my Big Kid Sleep Training Package.

Q

Is there a difference between babies and toddlers when it comes to sleeping through the night?

A Yes, some babies (depending on weight and age) will still require a feed during their 11-13 hours of nighttime sleep whereas toddlers do not.

Q

Will sleep training work for my twins/triplets?

A Absolutely! There are a few techniques that can be used to successfully sleep train twins and triplets. I believe in applying a personal approach and can modify my sleep training techniques to suit your family’s individual needs.

Q

My child shares a bedroom with an older sibling. Will sleep training work for my child? How does that work?

A Yes. Logistically it will depend on whether both kiddos are being sleep trained or just one as well as the setup of your home. Often times, we will move the other child to a different location if only working on one.

Q

I share a room with my child, will sleep training work for me?

A For newborns or infants, yes. As a child gets older it does become a bit more challenging. Often a visual barrier is necessary for older babies. I do recommend having a separate room for toddlers and older kids. Side note–I have worked with a toddler in the same room as mom. We saw a lot of progress, but it’s not ideal.

Q What is the success rate for sleep training?

A 100% of families see huge improvements during the first week if they are 100% consistent and follow my personalized sleep training plan.

Q

Do you sleep overnight in my home during sleep training?

A I do have half night packages where I stay at your home if you’re local. I also have bedtime packages. All of my packages include additional virtual support as well. I’m here for you!

Q

Is my child too old for sleep training?

A...I work with kids 0-6 years old

Q Do you offer virtual sleep training?

A Yes.

Q

How long does it take to see results?

A If you are 100% consistent and follow the plan you start to see results in the first week.

Q

What is the SleepSense™ method?

A SleepSense™ uses a combination of ‘setting the stage’ as well as sleep training for parents to create an environment that is ideal for sleeping through the night. I coach parents on how to interact with their child while they are on a learning curve and how to reassure and comfort baby without overstimulating and prolonging the process. I’m a certified SleepSense™ Consultant, using a personalized approach to sleep training.

Q

What’s the difference between SleepSense™ method and the “Cry it Out” (CIO) Method? Is it the same thing?

A CIO, or ‘Cry It Out,’ typically refers to extinction, where you place your baby in their crib and then leave to let them work it out without intervention. My methods are as gentle as possible and teach you how to respond to your baby and reassure him/her without overstimulating all while your baby is learning how to sleep on their own.

And Now, A Sleep Story…

My son is 6 months old and I was more exhausted than I thought was humanly possible. He woke up every 1-2 hours at night since his first day of life. He rarely took naps longer than 30 minutes and every nap was a fight. In order to get him to sleep we’d have to feed him to sleep and hope we could lay him down without waking him up, which rarely worked. We’d rock him for hours for him to just wake up 30 minutes later and repeat. I knew we couldn’t sustain it much longer. So, I reached out to Andi and she immediately made me feel hopeful. She was confident in sleep training and told me I’d be getting better sleep soon if I stuck to her plan. We made the investment and followed her plan 100%. She answered any and all questions along the way and was very available to us by phone and email. Sleep training was a challenge over the first few days, it’s never easy to hear your baby cry but, it was easier than I ever expected it to be because the plan was so specific and detailed, she told me what to expect and it worked! I’m thrilled to share that our son has slept through the night multiple times since sleep training started 2 weeks ago. I chose to keep 1 night feed for now, and Andi was supportive of this request and has prepared me for when it will be time to cut out that feeding as well. In just 2 weeks, our life has changed dramatically. My husband and I have our evenings back, we are rested, happy, healthier and are fully enjoying our son. I currently have the time to write this review because my son has been napping for over 2 hours. And he puts himself to sleep every time! This adventure has been life changing in so many ways and I cannot thank Andi enough for her knowledge, customized plan, and support. This was well worth every penny. If you are thinking about hiring Andi as your sleep consultant, do it, follow her plan and you will not regret it.
